Ugh, can't shake the feeling that Marble is going to beat us in the 2nd half.
 

Huge momentum swing going into half... GOD DAMNIT MO!!!

King missed Malik wide open. I'm baffled that Pitino continually played King and Oto over Buggs the past few weeks. There's a thread on Gopherhole titled "How bad is Buggs?" because our other two PF's are god awful but Buggs wasn't seeing playing time. I don't get it.
 


9-11 from 3?

Can't expect that to continue.

Need continued hustle, and win some of the loose balls.

We know Buggs went into Pitino's dog house after the FSU game so maybe he just recently got out of it.

I'm wondering if Buggs was so lost defensively in practice, that Pitino felt he couldn't play him. I would like an explanation.

Start BUGGS second half or take him off the bench for another spark? I learn towards the later.

Agreed about the playing time for Oto and King. I don't think King would be playing much at all tonight if Elliot and Mo weren't picking up fouls every two minutes.
 

Question remains can Buggs help inside with scoring if they shut him down from the three.
 




We'll shoot 70% in the 2nd half and put up 120 on these ugly iowegians.
 

The key to the second half is to defend. If the Gophs don't get into a defensive stance and get in people's grills, the Hawkeyes are going to blow right past them.
 


Ridiculous that we gave Iowa the extra possession at the end of the half to get the 3. No way that should have happened with only a 3 second difference between shot clock and game clock. Absolutely should have milked the shot clock to 0 and at most Iowa gets a desperation shot. I think that's what Pitino wanted because he was not happy with King for the pass into Walker (I kind of wonder if Walker wasn't expecting it, either).

It was brutal. But with the Gophers luck on 1st half buzzer beaters, they'd have made a half court heave anyway.
 

No way Austin continues to make everything and there's no guarantee Buggs lights it up in the 2nd half either. We really, really, really need to rebound and dive on the floor for loose balls. Someone needs to shutdown Marble too, dude is killing us.

Austin or McNeal need to guard Marble.
 

Didn't see that coming with Buggs and Au Hollins carrying the offense. Fun first half to watch. Here's to hoping for a great 2nd half to close this game out.

Agreed. Shooting almost 70% from the field, 82% from 3. I'll be happy if that continues, but I'll bet on regression to the mean all day. Need to win some other battles.h
 

We could shut down everyone else and let Marble score. One guy should not beat us.
