Gable Steveson exploring return to Gophers wrestling program, U coach Brandon Eggum told the Pioneer Press

Steveson exploring to possibly return in 2023 and not 2022 because? Anybody have information on the WHY behind this comment by Coach Eggum?

Sorry but ... it would be kinda lame to have gone through all that pomp of leaving your shoes at the center of the mat, having everyone gushing over how you were one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, etc. etc.

and then be like "oh just kidding!".

Is there anyone coming up in this 2022-23 season that actually has a chance in hell of beating Gable? I'm guessing no way.

He's lacking charisma the couple times on TV, Paul Heyman too tied up with Usos and Roman to manage Gable as a face manager. Other fine alternative would be Kurt Angle that WWE had been renegotiating with recently

For whatever it is worth, Gable was one of the first to sign with the WWE's new "NIL deals" where they sign college athletes (not just from wrestling, but football, etc. as well) up to be the next generation of pro wrestling developmental talent.

Idea is to find the next Rock, and so on.

Well let's be honest......this Gopher wrestling program really needs him back. Unfortunately, it has not been going in an upward direction for many years. Individually yes, but not as a team in the Big or nationally.

It's really too bad. We were once one of the "elite".

MITB and UFC ppvs in Vegas tonight and Gable is at UFC instead of WWE
