nice, but that just goes to show that hockey (pro or college), even in minnesota/wisconsin/massachusetts/michigan/illinois/new york, is still and always will be a niche and highly regionalized (even within a state) sport.

football and basketball at the U of M will always be bigger and more important sporting events and get more eyeballs when there is something on the line.

I was more impressed with the 17k plus in attendance. Philly is a decent pro hockey town but not much for college.
