RE: Minnesota Likely Hiring Either Edsall Or Chris Petersen

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No current BCS or top mid-major coach is taking this job. Peterson didn't even talk to USC when that job opened. UCLA, ASU and Arizona jobs could be open in a year or two, as could Washington State. All 4 are better than Minnesota. There is zero chance of Peterson going to Minnesota. Rodriguez is hanging by a thread, Zook is Zook, Purdue's coach is an idiot, and there is even a chance that the Ferentz gets voted off the island in Iowa. If Edsall wants a Big 10 job, he is waiting for one of those.

LOL we might as well just give up if we're worse than Wazzu.

I like how the poster spelled Petersen right in the title and wrong in the post.

What exactly did Danny Hope do to show that he's an "idiot". That sure was stupid of him to have 99% of his skill players suffer season-ending injuries.

While I would not be surprised if Petersen would hold out for a west coast job, I am baffled that anyone would suggest Minnesota is a worse job than Wazzu. Could there be a worse BCS position in the country? Already at the bottom of their conference with one clearly superior (Utah) and one possibly superior (Colorado) school joining to push them further down, in the middle of nowhere, relatively small school, small stadium, etc. If we are worse than that, then we take over the spot as the worst BCS program in th country!

As for the rest, I think we are a marginally better program than Arizona, on par with ASU, although I think they have more upward potential, and inferior to UCLA.

It is interesting though that the West Coast or Rocky Mtn coaches often stay west. Exceptions are Dennis Erickson when he left Wazzu to go to Miami and Mike Prise leaving Wazzu for 'Bama (briefly), but even they returned after a while (if UTEP can be considered west). Urban Meyer went from Utah to Florida, but was only in Utah for two years after being in the Midwest prior.

My point is, I wonder if Petersen would be more interested in a job such as UCLA, Washington, Cal, etc., if he is ever going to leave Boise.

My other point is that this UConn poster is an idiot!
