If I'm a PR guy for athletics gear company my job is to "Rah rah look at these awesome uniforms!" and etc.

I also probably know the rumors around coach's being fired and inside baseball / social media circus is endless. Easier to just direct the questions to the folks who the folks responsible for the firing.

The word in wisconsin circles is that there is significant bad blood between Leonhard and Chris McIntosh, the AD who passed him over to hire Fickell. It is thought to be highly unlikely that Leonhard would consider the job as long as Mac is the AD. Possible work arounds would be either firing the AD or hiring a fully empowered GM who would hire the new coach and act as an intermediary (really a wall) between the two.

Don't know how secure the AD is or is not there but the way things are playing out this feels like the AD gets that Ax this year and then Fickell gets fired by the new AD next year if things don't drastically improve.

That could well be correct, although the pressure to do something with Fickell is going to be pretty high if they don't win at least a couple of more games.

I'm guessing it's a lot cheaper to fire an AD than a coach with a gazillion dollar buyout but I agree with you
 



Would be pretty interesting if they got Leonhard back as HC and he hired Chryst as the OC.

Leonhard would be a really good hire for them. We'll see how badly the people behind the scenes want him. If they really do, the AD better start polishing up his resume.
