Great way to say, give me a raise Nebby.

Did they burn that bridge?Chryst was a good football coach and even a better offensive coordinator. Leonhard would have been a pretty good hire. You have to wonder if they burnt that bridge.
Chryst situation was a check dated for a single day. Use it or lose it.Chryst was a good football coach and even a better offensive coordinator. Leonhard would have been a pretty good hire. You have to wonder if they burnt that bridge.

It would be seriously tough to not take that job.Great way to say, give me a raise Nebby.
They just announced a deal with Adidas that begins in 2026.I heard this as well. How can this be when they’re a Nike school?
Seems odd they wouldn’t just say that. I agree though.I really have trouble believing that one.
I can’t imagine going to the board at adidas and saying that you threw $49 million away so some school can hire a new coach and potentially get worse…
If I'm a PR guy for athletics gear company my job is to "Rah rah look at these awesome uniforms!" and etc.Seems odd they wouldn’t just say that. I agree though.

I have not kept up on that story.
Don't know how secure the AD is or is not there but the way things are playing out this feels like the AD gets that Ax this year and then Fickell gets fired by the new AD next year if things don't drastically improve. The word in wisconsin circles is that there is significant bad blood between Leonhard and Chris McIntosh, the AD who passed him over to hire Fickell. It is thought to be highly unlikely that Leonhard would consider the job as long as Mac is the AD. Possible work arounds would be either firing the AD or hiring a fully empowered GM who would hire the new coach and act as an intermediary (really a wall) between the two.
That could well be correct, although the pressure to do something with Fickell is going to be pretty high if they don't win at least a couple of more games.Don't know how secure the AD is or is not there but the way things are playing out this feels like the AD gets that Ax this year and then Fickell gets fired by the new AD next year if things don't drastically improve.
I'm guessing it's a lot cheaper to fire an AD than a coach with a gazillion dollar buyout but I agree with youThat could well be correct, although the pressure to do something with Fickell is going to be pretty high if they don't win at least a couple of more games.
Leonhard would be a really good hire for them. We'll see how badly the people behind the scenes want him. If they really do, the AD better start polishing up his resume. The word in wisconsin circles is that there is significant bad blood between Leonhard and Chris McIntosh, the AD who passed him over to hire Fickell.
