Fox Friday Night Games

I initially thought this was specific to Big Ten games and that maybe I missed some very big news in the past few days.

I am kind of in the minority (maybe), but wish we were hosting a game Friday, October 16.

Still think it is a missed opportunity to host a game on MEA Weekend. Zero high school games. All eyes on the Gophers.

For the fans complaining about having to work on Friday. I pray I never have a job that I can't get out early on a Friday given 6 months notice.

Be careful, Peacock is still an option. This was just FOX

Put me square in the complaining camp for multiple reasons:

- Already have to put in "the leave early request" for the Season Opener. More than 1 "leave early" request in what is only a 7 game Home schedule is quite a hassle in my opinion. Any such request reduces the opportunity for other vacation day requests. The 6 month in advance aspect has no bearing on easing those drawbacks. For many outstate Gopher fans, it would not just require a "leave early" request but require a full day off request.

- Doing the half day of work then going to a game makes for an extra long day as well potentially doubles the parking fees, travel time etc.

- Especially when the calendar hits October, I want to be outside in the daylight and hopefully sunshine as much as possible.

- I want as many Saturday games as possible. They work best for the majority of interested parties, including the Univ of Minnesota itself.

An additional Friday game every 4-5 years I can handle. Anything more than that is excessive. If that were the cycle, then I would only have to put up with 1 or 2 more during my working career. After that, "everyday would be like Friday" as far as I am concerned.

Peacock sucks.

Also, I presume since only "FOX" was listed, it would not preclude FS1 from scheduling some Big 10 inventory.

NBC, Peacock & CBS I am assuming are only allowed Black Friday games. Just an assumption, I may have that wrong in case anyone is able to correct me.

No Friday games, traffic sucks on Fridays anyways

So any conference game could be switched to a Friday? When do these decisions get made?

Switching Iowa or Michigan would not be good. Also I don't think UCLA and Northwestern would get switched to a night game in November. Maybe a road game. Switch the smaller conferences to Friday night games.

I'm only aware of Black Friday for when NBC/Peacock or CBS have aired Big Ten games on a Friday?

I think Fox/FS1 have that exclusively for the Big Ten?

Ah the days when every game was at 1 PM on Saturday.

Michigan does not play Friday Regular Season games currently, Road or Away. Their last one was 2003.

Who was that against? Probably not a game worth remembering.

Call me old school but I don't think any CFB should be played on Fridays unless it's over Thanksgiving or a bowl game.
I'm OK with Labor Day Weekend & Conference Championships (soon to go bye-bye) too.

NFL just released their Black Friday slate as one 2pm game

So I won’t be surprised if big ten has a 2:30 cbs (likely Iowa Nebraska) and a 630pm nbc (possible MN-WI)

They have rotated the second game on Black Friday. I think there was a Mn Wi, a MSU PSU, and an Indiana Purdue the last 3 years but I could be mistaken

I would think CBS would want to avoid going head-to-head with the NFL window.

Last year the Iowa-Nebraska game was 11am local time.

Feels like it's time for a couple of PAC 4 teams to take their turn as a Black Friday Prime Timer.

I think the two most prime candidates are MN-WI and USC-UCLA

They want a rivalry and I’m not sure Oregon-Washington is enough of one.
Saturday still has the big noon game. So the NBC game is going to be like the 3-4th pick of games that week. Not sure the contract exactly
