Foster Bush to the U of M

Marz thoughts.

I have spoken with those who know Marz family friends and relatives. Very little to no chance for the Gophers at this point to get in on him. He is pretty excited to be going to Wisconsin. Sounded like one of the reasons he is a Badger is the stability in the coaching staff.

Yeah, he seems a bit smaller than they'd prefer. All of their starters are over 315 lbs so I imagine his weight does play a role in why he wasn't a priority for them. He also doesn't seem to have the build of a guy that can add a ton of weight in college. Take Tyler Marz for example, at 6'8" 280 he is leaner than Bush, however he has the build where he could get up to 325 pretty easily.

I know they really like Bush coming out of camp. There was some talk right away that he might warrant an offer. We only took 2 OL this year, both OTs, and both OOS - that's pretty rare.

If Marz or Ray Ball had fallen through, it's a good bet Bush would have been offered. He was probably their highest rated in state lineman - even higher than Marcus Aprahamian who wound up at Duke.

Interesting. When was the last time Wisky didn't offer an in-state OL? You guys seem to offer at least one or two every year.

I went back to 2002, and we took at least 1 in-state OL every year from 2002-2011.

Very rare. It was a tremendous year for LBs & TEs in-state. Linemen, not so much.

2012 2013 are supposed to be much better. Kill is a guy who has a history of taking OL from Wisconsin while at N Ill, so you guys have a coach with decent connections here.

Wisconsin did add a lineman from Milwaukee Pius today as a preferred walk-on in Jonathan Coon (6'7, 270).
