Despite what Badger fans thought of Mertz, he would have been their starter next year if their AD hadn’t hired a HC that runs a totally different offense.

Remember after his first game against Lovie Smiths Illini defense when he threw for 5 TD's and everyone crowned him the next great thing (even some national pundits). Perhaps FL feels like they can tap into that. Would love to see him tear up the SEC after getting creamed in B1G.
