A 52 year-old dude and a 57 year-old lady were racing their cars, she hit and killed two kids in a crosswalk and tried to flee the scene? Wow. Another story reports that they were known to hit the bars together, although she hasn't been charged with a DUI in this incident. Her husband is a well-known plastic surgeon.

I just read a story that says Erickson was through the intersection (and out of sight) when the accident occurred. That means the family had enough time for him to pass, then start walking, then react to her car moving through the intersection:

" Sheriff’s officials said six family members were crossing the three- way intersection — which does not have a stoplight — in the crosswalk when the mother heard a car speeding toward them and both parents reached out to protect two of their children, but the two boys were too far out in the intersection and were struck. "​

I am try to envision a scene where a "drag race" is possible given the above circumstances. Maybe, she was chasing Erickson? it does not appear they are throwing one another under the bus for this....
