I would anticipate there being mutual interest here. Just depends if MN can afford him.

I wonder what he's thinking. He was part of a pretty good 1-2 at Nebraska and I don't see him as a featured back in a high-level P4 program. He does have some explosion in his game and he's fun to watch,

Hard to know...for instance, Jesus and money are not a natural fit for a lot of people.
Romans 8:31 "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Yet, his name is EMoney. Is it because you can count on him to deliver in the clutch?
Or, is it...I ain't getting paid enough to be in Nebraska?

I’d take him, we could use an experienced rb. But not sure if anything has changed since high school as far as the coaches thoughts on him. They must’ve not liked something about him out of high school.

Nebraska has plenty of money to throw around so I doubt this is purely a money move.

I didn't know that Minnesota didn't offer him, I do trust PJ probably had a good reason why he didnt.
He was a late commit and NE was his only P4 offer. He was offered on Dec. 11 2021 and committed and signed on the 15th.

My point was that since he only had one P4 offer, so he wasn’t a coveted RB recruit at our level.

Fleck has of course shown a keen ability to recruit good/excellent backs that are capable of playing/succeeding at the B10 level.

If Johnson is a fit, I’m sure Fleck will offer him😃

I've been impressed when I watch him, and a quick peek at the Husker message boards tells me they aren't happy to lose him. No idea what his interest level is in coming back home but I think he'd be a good compliment to DT.

they ran 4 RBs at Neb this year, have 12 on the roster, and only Johnson that played is out of eligibility. Given Rhule seems to prefer Dowdell who is a sophomore, can't say I blame him for looking for more touches elsewhere.

Out of eligibility?

Out of eligibility?
Of those that took regular carries, Rahmir Johnson the only sr who is out of eligibility i believe

sorry that prior post was clearly not grammatically correct

That would be my guess.

Was the guy a late bloomer? It looks like Nebraska and three MAC teams were his only FBS offers.

He's a good running back. Probably looking for an SEC back, landing spot a school like Texas, or Texas A&M.

Interesting that he is leaving after becoming the #1 back, but I'm sure it's not all rosy in Lincoln.

He logged 42% of he carries over the final 3 weeks under Holgorsen. He also have 42% of his season carries in the last three week.

He had 20 of his 35 catches over the last 3 weeks as well. 57%

i would guess he doesn't want to be in a 50/50 timeshare (its what he and Dowdell did the majority of the year) with another guy checking in for passing downs (Johnson's role) but would ride the hot hand randomly. to me it would be really tough to have no idea if you're going to be the guy who gets the bulk of the carries week in and out, especially if you feel like you should be "the guy".

there was actually huge publicity around it when Neb though they might not suck this year about how they had 4 RBs and listed them as OR on the depth chart and planned to share carries with them all. There's only so many carries in a game to go around. think people are trying to make this something its not when it's just the system Rhule runs and knowing Gabe Ervin would be healthy this year so Rhule probably is going to try use a bunch of guys again (I understand they now have all but Dowdell transferred or at least entered the portal, just meaning in concept)

Sometimes, when you think the ship is sinking... and you notice others abandoning the vessel, you best get yer ass overboard and save yourself.

I'm not close enough to know...but I don't get the impression that the ship is sinking.
Ruhle kept a lot of holdover people and has decided maybe he should move on from some.
In the case of the DC, Ruhle supposedly pushed him out and prefers the interim guy???
IDK but my impression isn't that Nebraska is floundering...they had #21 recruiting class in the country.

The Gophers had expectations that Mo, Bucky, Ky Thomas all would be back and already had a commitment from Zach Evans so it might have just been a situation there wasn't room for him even if they liked him. His best offer until Nebraska came in very late was Western Kentucky.

supposedly they have 150 kids that were with the program this year in some capacity (this is listed on their team roster on the school website). they're gonna have to trim a bit

Maybe Nebraska is too pass-oriented for him with Raiola at qb.
