Former Gophers kicker Matthew Trickett signs 3-year deal with Falcons

Awesome news for Trickett. Especially the 3 year part.
 

Great for Trickett!! Couple questions: 1. Did he do the kickoffs or did we have someone else do that? 2. Why would they sign him to a three year deal? Kickers seem day to day on many NFL teams apart from the few that are established stars.
 

CBS blurb: Trickett and the Falcons agreed on a three-year contract Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Trickett went undrafted this April after five college campaigns with the Minnesota Golden Gophers, and he'll now get his NFL shot with Atlanta. With Younghoe Koo already on the roster, Trickett may operate as the backup kicker this season, potentially as a practice-squad option.
