Former Gopher Isaac Fruechte joins Schmidt at Northern St.

Former UW-La Crosse head coach Mike Schmidt is adding a familiar face to his coaching staff at Northern State.

Isaac Fruechte was named the Wolves new offensive coordinator Thursday.

Fruechte spent one season at UW-L as an offensive assistant under Schmidt.

Then this last season, Freuchte was the receivers coach at Northern Iowa.

The Caledonia native played for the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Gophers.

Fruechte joins Schmidt at Northern St.
