Crazy lifestyle some of these college coaches live, especially position coaches and coordinators.

Go Gophers!!

When Roof was hired, I remember being excited a Coordinator with HC experience was coming in that could help Brew out --- that was some next level coping back in those days.
Roof was decent. IIRC He helped land some decent defensive talent. Especially one year wonder Tramaine Brock (sp?).

Roof was solid. Interesting how he held basically the same role at GT twice over a decade apart and same thing at UCF.

I counted 17 different teams in 37 years.

I seem to recall that Roof and Brewster had a falling out and it leaked out beyond the building. Same thing happened with Dunbar.

I liked Ted Roof and thought his defenses gave us a chance to win. That has not always true with some of the other defensive coordinators (I'd rather not mention names). A P5 program could do a LOT worse than hiring Ted Roof as their DC.

I can’t believe Brewster was only 17 years ago. It seems like a lifetime.

He also has to have a great professional network. I bet he knows people in nearly every corner of the country.

He used to catch for the twins and then managed as well, quite a jack of all trades.

Yes, and wasn't the buzz that he would be working in the NFL real soon? Looks like he never made the cut.

I wonder if has any stress wondering where his next job will take him? Or because he has gone everywhere (where I'm sure future employers have to wonder about him) he assumes he will get a job somewhere?

What a career, and definitely one with a lot of real highs and lows. After Minnesota he went to Auburn and got a ring out of the 2010 team, to his credit the Tigers held that Oregon offense in check.

Was part of a 2014 Georgia Tech season that won an Orange Bowl. Was with a 2019 Appalachian State team that went 13-1, winning the Sun Belt and their bowl game. Then there were years like 2020 with Vanderbilt where the team went 0-9, or 2015 Georgia Tech which went 3-9.

Can't imagine it's easy hopping from job-to-job so much, though. Having to implement a new defensive philosophy/style, meet all the players, be involved with recruiting, get to know a new conference, and then packing it up and doing it all over the next year?

Ya, 6th job in 7 years...it would seem he has a developed a personality that nobody likes very much.
Obviously, he knows football. He almost certainly must be stubborn, ornery, abrasive, or making socially unacceptable comments to be constantly moving. Something...?
Is there a next stop? At some point everybody goes a different (safer) direction.
