Very sad. My 1st year of college was at University of Arizona. Both Lute and Jerry Kindall ( baseball) were coaching there. Now both are gone. Both with Minnesota ties. Life is short.

Bit of trivia but Lute coached high school BB for a year I think in Two Harbors.

I coached for Lute at his Iowa summer camp.
Very gracious, warm, sincere, accepting, welcoming personality to a nervous young coach. Good guy. RIP Lute.

I think Lute was a Hella of a guy. But when he lost his first wife and married Christine (whatever was going on there was not good) it pretty much brought him down. Condolences to his family. Like myself, I miss my Dad.
