SS...any chance this big guy could become an All-American tight end for the Gophers?
 

Ed DeChellis (32), Penn State. Time to find out whether they actually care about basketball in Happy Valley. If they do, DeChellis is probably a short-timer; he's into his seventh season without an NCAA bid in sight. With guard Talor Battle returning from last year's NIT champions, there was some hope -- but an 0-7 Big Ten start has extinguished it.

I really like Ed DeChellis but I can't see how he keeps his job at PSU. His teams are always characterized as "over achievers" which usually means they aren't very good. Taylor Battle is great but that's about it....again.
 

I like DeChellis as well, but I agree with Forde that he's in trouble. Assuming Battle comes back, I think they'll give DeChellis one more year. The NIT title was a nice accomplishment for that program, and I think it bought him some time. But if he doesn't get them to the NCAAs next year in Battle's senior year, he'll be gone.
