He left because he had no business being an AD, not to mention he left immediately after firing Ernie Kent and got a nice "retirement" package to leave.

Is he interested in coaching, not here but anywhere?

Looks like it was a combination of wanting to continue coaching more than being an AD, OU trying to get a BSD in there to return the athletic program to profitability and hire a rock-star BB coach and Belotti getting a gang of cash to walk away.

As a person who has Belotti as my favorite, I would take Alvarez for the exact same reasons. The difference between the two is that Belotti -- apparently -- wants to return to coaching. Alvarez has given no such indication.

The premise of the thread is a non-starter. A successful coach to does not find happiness or success in an administrative role is not the least bit new or surprising.
