Football student ticket update

I like everything about the policy, at least how it's written. Enforcement on gameday as we get into the season will be the true test, however.

Seriously though, they settled on the name "We Are... Minnesota" for the name of the spirit squad? Did they only have 60 seconds to come up with an idea?

The "We are...Minnesota" comes directly from Maturi. I remember him saying that he used it at Miami to try to create a supportive/unified/team astmosphere on campus and wanted to do that here as well.

On Paper it looks exactly like Penn St's cheer, but spoken aloud it sounds a little different. Penn st's is "WE ARE...Penn St" with the emphasis on both the WE and ARE. the way Maturi says it for "WE are...Minnesota" has the emphasis on the "WE" and there's kind of a pause after it then tere's really no pause between the are and minnesota. It should read more like this" WE....are Minnesota."

when you have to read into something that closely, you should be thinking of a new name...that was the best maturi can come up with?

When I hear that cheer I instantly think of Marquette as they have been using it for awhile.

yeah, pretty much every decent cheer/slogan/rallying cry you can come up with these days is going to be reused, recycled or straight up copied from someone else. The best bet is to embrace the originals and do a little education to the masses (Ex. ski-u-mah).

That said, I don't think the athletic department had a "slogan" before Maturi got here.

yeah there's no dates on them. The only way to tell if they're valid is by scanning them. So it sounds like they will have the technology there to scan every U Card to make sure. The question is... Can you use the person's U Card that matches the tickets? I'm obvoiusly not going to pass as a Courtney... So will I not be able to get in?

Really?
