Just thought I would drop a little good history during this dead period until fall. I know (or at least I think) Bama was depleted by sanctions, but still nice for viewing pleasure. A lot of names I've forgotten. That running game was fun to watch.

That was a fun game. After the first ten minutes you would think the game would be a blow out for the Tide.

Such an odd call. Up 20-14 with just over 3 minutes to go, and grinnin Glen has his punter walk the snap through the end zone for a safety. Hung on, but really questionable.

I know some Alabama fans still a little sore that the Minnesota band played Rocky Top at that game.

They’re good sports about it, but they remember…

Considering the luck Glen would experience… it kinda makes sense.

It’s Alabama taking over at their own 35 instead of the gophers 45

And Alabama stalled out at the 15.

The Genius of mason.

I forget that Alabama won 10 games the next year.

The 2005 gophers are the most disappointing team in gopher history to me. Should’ve competed for a big ten title and instead went 7-5 then lost to a mediocre Virginia team.

Thanks for the memories! We can't have enough Barbers. I hope the next generations are on the way.

Alabama had not allowed anyone to rush for 100 yards that season but Barber and Maroney both went over 100 that day. When Cupito got hurt early, the Gophers really leaned on those two. Rhys-Lloyd missed a short field goal late in the game that was nearly fatal. Bama didn't have their starting quarterback, Brodie Croyle, and the sub was pretty bad but he still led Bama down the field at the very end. I remember he missed a guy wide open in the end zone!

I've been a Gopher fan too long. I'm watching a replay of an 18 year old game where I already knew the outcome and I was still sure the Gophers would find a way to break my heart in the final series.
