IMO winning doesn’t define a program. It is a symptom of a program.
Is Larry Coker a great coach?
Is Gene Chizik?
Is Dan Mullen?
Is Gary Pinkel?
Is Gary Anderson?
I would imagine you also don’t think winning is the sole measuring stick of a program.
My broader point is, if people at the university think he isn’t the right guy, they should make a move ASAP.

Tim Brewster won while he was here with two bowl games in first two years.
1 and 6 in year three and the plug was pulled. Rumors were out very early that year that the plug was going to get pulled on Brewster and as soon as he hit loss #6, he was out. But it appears people around the program realized it wasn't the right guy, but had to kind of wait it out before they could can Tim.
After Tim was fired, many people were surprised because back then it was unusual to fire coaches during the season.
