It will be interesting to see how he relates to today's college athletes. Not sure his style will play well with current college athletes but I guess we will see how it goes.

Did his style play well with professional players when he was coaching? Seems like there might be data that they endured him to be part of a winner not because they honored him.

Professional football players and college football players are very different. For pro players, football is their job, and their livelihood depends on it. For the majority of college football players their career ends when their college career ends.

I have no idea if Belichick's curmudgeon style will work with college athletes but I don't think it will. But who knows these days....up is down....left is right.....so maybe the 70+ plus year old head coach can relate to the teenagers....

Dude was a really successful head coach as long as he had Tom Brady running the show.
 

For payers that can earn $, does it matter if Belichickn is coach - yeh kinda cool if being recruited but if someone else flashes another $10k and it’s a good school I’m going there.

I know it feels like it as a fan but it isn't all just about money and greed. Yes that is a big part of it but take a guy like Koi for example. He could 1000% be making more money by leaving.

I think the Belichick experiment will probably look good out of the gate, but I don't know if that will translate in any way to wins and losses. He'll probably be able to hire a lot of aggressive young assistant coaches who will want to learn from the master. Landing top players may be another matter, but there are probably a number of high school players and players in the portal who will at least be curious about the prospect of playing for him. Again, it wil be a year or two before we all figure out whether this has staying power or is simply a novelty (and vanity) hire.
