Koi can be Koi when Freshman Koi is closing games with picks and making plays every Saturday.

When sophomore Koi's big splash plays are more rare some of your antics are harder to stomach.

Like most things in life, the better you are, the longer leash you have.

That is how you do things. Consumers vote with their dollars to show what they value. Go with who.values you.

College ball on TV to millions of viewers rakes in the cash. The players, labor, should be compensated, a piece of the pie.

Pay to see a 21 year old music or movie star but then football players generating millions before millions of viewers are expected to not get paid?

Perich has to go where he is valued. I am thankful he did give Minnesota his lower cost years over other schools.

He did give his loyalty to Minnesota when he had many other choices.

Now taking a massive haircut to stay at MN is not a sane option Go get paid.

Oregon can burn 2 million on an inconsistent player more than Mn can

Especially when it’s possible two years 2 million per year is bigger than his nfl contract might be!

Indeed, Oregon's ranked as the 15th best school in the country and Minnesota comes in at 24. So he's leaving for a better education and getting paid $2 million dollars. With my Edina and Augsburg education I would say this was a win for him. Wouldn't you agree?

I hate break this to you but Oregon is not even close to Minnesota as far as academics go.

Oregon the 15th best academic school in the country? What is your source?

I generally dislike college rankings because all schools have a different focus. However, I’ve never heard of Oregon cracking the top 50 in any discipline. (I concede there might be one). The often quoted US News and World Report ranks them at 112 for all Universities, 54 for top public schools, and 183rd best value.

They may be regarded as top 15 for athletics, or party school, but that’s about it.

Perhaps staying loyal to him as he did commit to play a 2nd year with the Gophers. Both parties fulfilled their end of the deal.

What remains to be seen is if this current model can exist solely off the big boys (Top of the SEC, B1G, Miami, etc) because I think we will see a huge fall off in interest and fan support once we all realize we're all on the outside looking in. FSU just downsized their stadium because they can't even fill it anymore. Season ticket holders and traveling fans are aging out, younger alumni can't afford to be invested and certainly won't be in this new NIL era
 

So players can agree to a new NIL with another team while playing with their current team as long as the coaches of the new team don't contact the player?

Again, somebody has to lose games. Any league will have a small group of top teams, a large group of teams in the middle, and a small group of bottom teams. The "Super" league soon becomes just another league.

What "problem" does this "solution" solve, for that top 25%, out of curiousity?

I say that those top 25% programs have things pretty damn good right now. Just like the top teams in the EPL have things pretty damn good.

They seem basically to be the same model, to me. Other than EPL has hard and fast rules about when teams steal players they are required to compensate the original club, whereas now in CFB that is a bit more dubious if it happens at all.

I mean the moment they allowed players to have agents they basically made enforcing any kind of tampering impossible unless the player is a moron like the Clemson kid that Dabo has gone public about.

I think they just knew he was leaving, they weren’t saying he had a $2 mil deal lined up with Oregon half way through the season.
 


If a safety is making $2 mil for them, how much is their entire roster making ?!
