Fleck looking for new RB Coach

ag
Who cares? I'm far from a Fleck apologist, but I can't envision a better candidate than the program's all time leading rusher, who has coaching experience. He was the only logical choice. He's not an OC (yet).
Agree with this. It's not as if Fleck hired him to be the OC......It's a position coach job. Mo has experience and was a standout at Minnesota, and was a part of the staff in the past. Fleck is not above criticism, but criticizing this hire is a bit much.

Experience? 1 year as a coach.

Part of the staff?

This seems like a reach and more about cheap than good.

Curious. What can a RB coach teach or coach that Mo is incapable of? Only question i have is his ability to recruit, and Fleck must be confident in that.

I didn't say it wasn't cheap.

Mo was a grad assistant (maybe? something like that?) here previously, and then went and coached for a year somewhere else.

Of all the things you can criticize Fleck for, this is low down on the list. Maybe bringing back a player who contributed to our success and loves the program deserves a chance as a position coach for the position he played. I have no problem with this.

If it was for a competent DC, I'd feel even better about it, but Fleck is going to be Fleck. Criticize his not using his budget (at least as I understand it - the truth there is fuzzy), and failing to at least try to bring in someone with experience that didn't used to work for Schiano.

Of the coaching moves this season, NOT going all out to bring Winston back is something to criticize Fleck about. This hire is lower risk and higher upside than hoping Danny Collins will eventually figure it out over the next couple of years so the worthless announcers can continue to prattle on over the great story of our DC instead of asking why the defense sucked so bad in so many games.
