I don't recall anything like this level of contact and so on.

KOC and PJ both seem to be general sports fans on top of football coaches and happy to go out and be visible places like on the field. That helps.

People want instant results, but the reality is that, as fans, we are in the dawn of a Golden Age.

A lot of head football coaches are massive pricks. At least ny outward appearances, Minnesota doesn't have that presence.

Fleck has definitely elevated the profile of the Gophers! Also nice to hear KFAN boys talk about our beloved rodents with Grim and Thompson on Monday morning and K State alum Ben Leber attending games too

Minnesota is a unique place - I feel like there are Twins fans, Gophers fans, Timberwolves fans, Wild fans... but there are more diehard Viking fans than the rest of the fans combined. I am probably a prime example - I absolutely love the Gophers, but on Sundays I bleed purple. You either compete against them and you're not going to win, or you build a relationship and use that to enhance your brand.

Easy recruiting tool for Fleck also to talk about the relationship he has the NFL team that is a couple of miles from campus. KOC is around our program, games, etc and we make a point to go to a Vikings game as a team.

I would assume the vast majority of our recruits have dreams/visions of playing in the NFL some day.

I don't know why but you would think Bud Grant would have had good relations with the U considering his history with them. I belive he lettered in 3 sports at the U. I don't remember any great relationship between them. If I remember correctly Bud did not do many things without getting payed for them.

It's reminiscent of the warm collegiality shared between Lou Holtz and Les Steckel in 1984.

And specifically Brosmer because we know KOC works with the QBs a lot.

Love that Brosmer is staying close to the program and appears that may have brought the head coaches closer together as well. Certainly can't hurt to have close ties with the local NFL team.
