Paging all tacklers

The Gophers opened the season with two solid games on the tackling front, missing no tackles against Buffalo and only three against Northwestern (La.) State, according to Pro Football Focus. Over the past three games, each against FBS opponents, the Gophers have missed 45 tackles. Against Ohio State, 14 missed tackles by Minnesota helped the Buckeyes win big.

“You’ve got to get better at the fundamentals and details of tackling,” Fleck said. “…You work on it every day, and the only choice you have is to get better."

Fleck has no plans to increase the level of hitting in practice to address tackling.

“I don’t think turning up the physicality with the level of depth in season is the smartest thing to do,” he said. “I’d rather have the really good players I have keep getting better at tackling than not have any players at all.”

Go Gophers!!

Go Gophers!!
The only way you really get better at tackling is to practice tackling live.

I read somewhere that we’re struggling to p my sub zone in the backend of the defense and tackling is harder out of man to man.

Can only hope for improvement each week and pick off the throws that the opportunity is there.

I mean, I know this is some autocorrect, but I can usually sus that out and don’t comment since the same thing happens to me all the time, but damn, this one has me stumped, it’s like a GopherHole Wordle.

I dont know what part you're struggling with. Hopefully we can do a better job trying to p Purdue's sub zone in the back end than we did with OSU.

Violent was the term I believe for this year. Might need another descriptor.

Yep. My brain read it right.

Struggling with zone on back end. Tougher to tackle in space out of man to man.

In general auto correct is a good thing but it is strange sometimes when it does somethign nonsensical or picks a word that is nothing close to what you were trying to type.

Doing the math, we "only" missed 14 tackles vs. tOSU, meaning we averaged 15.5 missed tackles between Rutgers and Cal. That is more concerning to me than missing 14 tackles against tOSU.

Maybe the quote on Violent was that we're violently bad at tackling. Again.

I can't imagine how a gopherhole wordle would play out but it would be fun to see...
