Individually, they don’t necessarily wow you. There isn’t an all-conference first-teamer, a top-25 scorer or an oversized ego anywhere on the roster.
Collectively, however, coach Dawn Plitzuweit’s team, top to bottom, is one of the better ones in the history of Gophers women’s basketball.
A record-tying 13 Big Ten victories? Check. An 0-for-36 skid against ranked teams ended? Two wins over top-10 teams? Check and check. A current No. 9 NET ranking, third-best in the brutal Big Ten? Check.
A trip to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2018? Tune in to the selection show on Sunday, March 15, to check that one off.
Not only are the Gophers expected to make the field, they appear set to get a top 16 overall seed and home-court advantage at Williams Arena through the first two rounds.
