Taking my 10 year old and two other dads a sons
to the home opener. What time do the festivities get started and are there any kid friendly activities b4 the game we should make sure to see?

I would try to catch the Band out in front of Mariucci 1 hr before game time. It's a lively pepfest that they might enjoy....gets you in the game spirit. And there are other things going on for kids between there and the stadium (face painting, info booths, bag tosses, etc. (they have prizes for the kids.) And inside the stadium you can shop @ Goldy's or just go broke buying them food! Fun to get into the stadium early as you get to see the warmups and you can probably get down near the field until the seats start to fill up

Especially if it is your first Gophers game, be sure to get into the stadium in time for the band pregame show.

We always show up a few hours early. The pre-game stuff outside on 'Block G' is fun, plus there's no line to get in the stadium itself when you finally do decide to make your way in the stadium.

About 2 hours before the game is the victory march. This is pretty cool and the kids would enjoy it. They would get a chance to get close to the players as they enter the stadium. Also the street between TCF and Mariucci is closed down and kids games are set up. They might enjoy that. Glad your bringing the kids. Show them Gopher sports early and hopefully they will become lifetime fans.
