Holding a candle at a Terry Schiavo vigil.

Now you try.

Sitting on a 12 hour flight with anal fissures like no other.

..being Sisyphus.

"And I saw Sisyphus at his endless task raising his prodigious stone with both his hands. With hands and feet he tried to roll it up to the top of the hill, but always, just before he could roll it over on to the other side, its weight would be too much for him, and the pitiless stone would come thundering down again on to the plain."

Sisyphus has been a Gopher fan since 1969. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

...cheering for Kelly Leeks in an amateur comedian contest.

is like being a browns fan, which unfortunately i am..........wait till next year is our motto.

...like cheering for the badgers without the Rose Bowls, national title contention, Heisman candidates, axe's, good student sections

hoping that one day it will all have been worth it. and in the mean time leaving TCF, The Barn, etc. with that feeling like you just got punched in the balls.

Like a man knowing seventy-five ways to have sex, but not being able to find a woman!

Sitting on Death Row wondering if your sentence will ever be commuted.

...knowing you are guilty and the Govenor is Rick Perry...:(

being Jewish...40 years wandering in the desert wondering if we are going to see the promise land.

............being a Vikings fan.

Amen! This may be the worst fall in my life. Both of my favorite teams are horrible. Looking at the positives, at least the Vikings are very competitive in the first half...

Shooting yourself in the foot and, even though it hurts like a mother, you try again to see what would happen. Lo and behold the same thing happens! Repeat as many times as necessary.

...a box of chocolates, when every chocolate has that nasty mystery fruit liqueur.

Being a Gopher fan is like having Deja Vu again and again.........................and again.

I was going to say Sisyphus, so I will say Tantalus. Tantalus's punishment was to stand in a pool of water beneath a fruit tree with low branches. Whenever he reached for the fruit, the branches raised his intended meal from his grasp. Whenever he bent down to get a drink, the water receded before he could get any. Over his head towers a threatening stone like the one that Sisyphus is punished to roll up a hill.

Either that, or it's like being asked to cut down the tallest tree in the forest with a herring.

Somehow looking forward to running your body through a giant cheese grater and then sitting in a tub of salt every Saturday

It's like being a Cubs fan and waiting for next year after 1/2 a season. year after year after year.

............being a Vikings fan.

this is the winner! ;-)

p.s. and it is nothing like being a cubs fan. would not wish being a cubs fan on my worst enemy. 103 years of baseball futility. but hey theo epstein is going to fix all of that right?! ah.......nope. :D

....getting kicked in the crotch....over....and over....and over again.
