Final Field of 68 Projection: Biggest Questions? Does SEC get 14 & does Mountain West get at least 4?

Missed 3.

Boise State, Indiana, West Virginia.

North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Xavier made it instead.

In my more than 30 years of doing this, North Carolina is the most egregious selection I’ve come across. The Tar Heels were 2-10 vs. the field, and one of those wins was American U. 🤮
Couldn’t take only 3 from the mighty ACC.

I don’t gamble.

Deep conference, but the ESPN experts all picked chalk for final 8. 1v2. They don’t seem to think it’s a deep tournament.

Yeah I don't really gamble either. But it does seem like the SEC is stacked at the top. Was interesting to see how "chalky" the conference tournaments were last week.

Committee taking a lot of heat regarding UNC.
As well they should. In an era of widespread corruption in almost all facets of our society, taking an unworthy team with the most egregious institutional cheating ever with that institutions AD as the chair isn’t helping to rebuild trust in institutions. Disgusting.

Their AD being the Selection Chair had nothing to do with it. Nothing!
It gets worse:

Bubba Cunningham's New Contract Details Released

The amended contract is stocked with opportunities for bonus payouts by hitting various benchmarks each academic year.

Additional compensation in the form of bonuses equal to one month’s salary for increased responsibilities for each of the following: (1) UNC’s football team is invited to a bowl game; and (2) its men’s and women’s basketball teams are invited to the NCAA Tournament. Those bonuses are paid to compensate Cunningham for “the overload duties, work and responsibilities” related to those events.

Grim.

How many times has a team that wasn't even in YOUR First 4 Out made the actual NCAA Field?

We’ve decided the SEC is stacked yet they haven’t won the tournament in 13 years.

We’ll see where it all ends up in the end.

Seems like most of the time that the selection committee overloads invites from one conference, that comes back to bite them in the ass. We'll see if it does this time. Of course, even if that happens, it won't prevent them from doing the same thing again.

The SEC was miles above any other conference this year and the SEC teams in the tourney deserve to be. Regardless how they do.

You get what you pay for (generally).

Just checked their final picks.

Joe Lunardi missed 2 (had Indiana & West Virginia instead of North Carolina & Texas).

Jerry Palm missed 3 (had Boise State, Indiana & West Virginia instead of North Carolina, Texas & Xavier).

(repeating mine) I missed 3 (had Boise State, Indiana & West Virginia instead of North Carolina, Vanderbilt & Xavier).

Good for WV.

They should go after the NCAA.

Even if everything turns out to be clean, which I don't believe for a second, the ADs and any other conflicted parties should not be picking the teams.

The Selection Committee needs to be reformed.

$$ talks and Texas and UNC........ well they let em in for the money..... sad but true

This is not helping the general cratering of peoples trust in institutions.

I’m just wondering what West Virginia did to piss off the committee. Huggy hangover? Pun perhaps intended.

Looks like the mistake that the Cmte made was including San Diego St instead of West Virginia.

Fuuhggly.
