Fill in the blank: If Flip is the Gophers coach, you will...

Be thoroughly disappointed, but still follow the team religiously and live and die with the maroon and gold.

contribute to the construction of a new practice facility.

Get excited enough about him to forget about the Gophers losing to Yale today.

be surprised as I thought Teague and Ellis would only look at Villa 7 candidates. I will also be pleased as I think Flip is the best candidate available at this point in the search process. If Flip can accelerate the completion of the practice facility and convince 1, 2 or 3 of the 2014 MN recruits to join him at MN, I wll be thrilled.

Deal with it....this is what happens when you fire Tubby and don't get Shaka. I guess we can also buy Flip out for 2.5 million after an NCAA Tourney appearance if we don't like him.

be interested to find out if his name truly carries any weight getting any of the Big 3 to sign with the Gophers (though that's not a priority of mine looking at the long-haul view of the program).

We get someone who has success coaching and doesn't piggy back off the previous coach? Seems like a good trade.

. . .take a good long look at his contract to see whether it appears we got a “discount” and be very interested to see who is on his staff. (I'll also renew my season tickets and continue to root for the Gophers as hard as I can.)

Give him the benefit of the doubt for five years like I do with any coach, not sure he'd stay that long, I just have the feeling that Flip is a short term solution

Be excited. We have a number of candidates that rumor has it we are looking at. I don't get it when people get hung up on one candidate. Lets see who Teague gets before we start complaining.

I would be happy. I believe he would work very hard. Interested in his staff.

I'd be very happy. He's one of the few guys that it appears we could hire that would give us a chance to recruit some high quality players. I like that he loves the University and I think he would surround himself with good assistants (please don't contact Jimmy W).

Be pretty furious that I didn't get the Smart/Stevens/Buzz co-head coaching trifecta I was apparently promised.

But really, I'd be pretty pleased. I don't think many people would be able to draw as much support for the program in as short of a time as I think flip could. People like my parents, who haven't cared about Gopher buckets in about 40 years have all of a sudden become very interested in Flip as a possible coach.

drink, heavily. cheer/support the team. revisit after five years

I would be happy because the next coach will have it all at his disposal. Just don't know when the next coach will be hired and I'm okay with that.

Be excited that in 3 years we will either be celebrating Vaughn/Jones-led NCAA runs or welcoming a new coach into our practice facility...

...finally get some work done next week

...renew my season ticket for next year

...buy a share in the new practice facility

Success coaching? Hasn't Flip been fired three times?

Aren't you the one getting all butthurt about Tubby being fired? You should be the last person trying to make the case that being fired means you're a bad coach.

Excited and actually hope Jones signs with the Gophers, would have been very depressing watching him play under Tubby's system.

I'll be mildly disappointed but I'll still cheer for the Gophers and give him the benefit of the doubt for the next 3-4 years.

Hope for the best, expect the worst, which amounts to the status quo for any Gopher fan.
