EDEN PRAIRIE, MN – With nearly three weeks of the regular season completed, our weekly Field of 68 projection is starting to take some shape. The number of undefeated teams has dwindled to only 25 teams, and somewhat surprisingly 10 of those reside from outside the Power 6 conferences.

This week’s projection is through games played Saturday, Nov. 26, so it does not include the final round of games from the ESPN Events Invitational (Oklahoma vs. Ole Miss title game), Baha Mar Hoops Nassau (North Texas vs. UNC-Wilmington), Phil Knight Invitational (Iowa State vs. UConn), and Phil Knight Legacy (Duke vs. Purdue).

An * denotes the projected automatic qualifier in a multiple-bid conference. KenPom rankings are noted in parentheses, but I will use NET rankings once the NCAA releases its initial rankings on December 5th.

Week 3 Team of the Week: Arizona – The Wildcats’ victims on their way to the Maui Invitational championship included San Diego State (87-70) and Creighton (81-79). Combined with Gonzaga’s early-season struggles (2 losses), the U of A appears to be the early favorite for the #1 seed in the West Regional.
