Dribbles & Scribbles
-- "In purgatory" Utah Valley (17-6, 7-3) retained its share of the WAC lead with a 68-55 win over Abilene Christian. Earlier this week the WAC banned Utah Valley from the conference tournament for its refusal to pay a required exit fee for leaving to join the Big West next season. Stay tuned to see how this one turns out.

-- William & Mary beat UNC-Wilmington for the second time -- the Seahawks' only conference losses -- to knock UNCW (19-4, 8-2) out of first place in the CAA. College of Charleston now sits at the top with a 9-2 conference mark.

-- Maine surprised Vermont 76-70 in Orono to knock the perennial America East power Catamounts (14-10, 6-3) out of first place in the America East. UMBC (remember those guys?) and NJIT now share the conference lead with 7-2 records.

Deep Thoughts, by Buzz Studley
If their seven-man rotation is healthy, the Minnesota Gophers are going to be a problem in the Big Ten Tournament. If I’m a bubble team, I’d want no part of them in Chicago. Indiana, Ohio State, UCLA, and USC. ... beware.
