NET: Tommies move up 9 spots to #111
Torvik (T-Rank): Tommies move up 5 spots to #119
Wednesday Summit League Results/Highlights
#111 St. Thomas 77, @ #192 South Dakota State 62: The Tommies completed a season sweep of the Jackrabbits (11-13, 4-5 Summit) behind 26 points, eight rebounds, and four assists from Nolan Minessale and 23 points, six rebounds, and five three-point buckets from Nick Janowski. It was UST's first win over SDSU in Brookings since its 2021-22 move to Division I. In the absence of starting point guard Austin Herro (lower body injury), sophomore guard Hayden Tibbits was solid off the bench, scoring eight points while going 2-of-3 from three-point land. Joe Sayler led the Jackrabbits with 16 points (3 treys), with Matthew Mors adding 13 points and five rebounds.
#276 South Dakota 82, @ #353 Kansas City 75 (OT): Cameron Fens scored 23 points and grabbed 12 boards as the Yotes (13-12, 5-5 Summit) escaped the Roos (4-20, 1-9 Summit) in overtime. Uzziah Buntyn added 20 points and five rebounds. Chris Dockery and CJ Evans led the free-falling Roos with 17 and 16 points, respectively.

-- The Dog Days of February have officially arrived:
Portland over Gonzaga 87-80
Minnesota over Michigan State 76-73
Oklahoma State over BYU 99-92
-- Michigan State point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. needs to knock off the crap. Officials correctly have adapted to his game and are starting to call him on his unnecessary flailing, flopping, kicking, and sometimes over-the-line nonsense. His theatrics and technical foul cost his team big-time last night. He's too good of a player for that. Just play basketball. Does he want to be known as the Big Ten’s next Brad "Nutcracker" Davison?
-- I wonder if Creighton forward and Wayzata (MN) native Jackson McAndrew would be interested in being a Minnesota Gopher next season? Especially if Bluejays coach Greg McDermott decides to retire for some reason. McAndrew would be a perfect stretch-4 for a Niko Medved offense.
-- In the Mountain West, Utah State logged an impressive and important 86-66 road win @ New Mexico. The #22 Aggies (19-3, 10-2 Mountain West) are now tied for first place with #44 San Diego State, one game ahead of the #45 Lobos. All three are squarely in the hunt for a NCAA Tournament bid.

Deep Thoughts, by Buzz Studley
The BTN's Andy Katz has been talking up Washington all season. Quite honestly, I’ve never seen it. The Huskies look very mid every time I see them. And in general, basketball-wise the Pac 12 schools haven’t brought much to the Big Ten in their first two seasons.
