Favorite moment from the 2024 regular season?

1. Ending the curse of Bert on the road was my biggie…made the road trip there and it was fun.
2. Whooping Becky’s ass ALWAYS!!!
3. USC win
4. Near win against PSU was a blast to be at.

I also like that beating Bert happened in the same year as beating Wisconsin. It would’ve been less real if you only got one
Part of Wisconsin coming back down from the top tier to the middle tier of the big ten is:
Fleck maintaining the improvements the Kill era made to the program.
Fleck 4-4 vs Wisconsin after streak

Illinois getting competent
Beilema 1-2 vs Wisconsin but I think him being competent has hurt Wisconsin a bit in recruiting.

Iowa getting better
Iowa was 34-30 from 2010-2014
Iowa is 89-38 from 2015-present

Fitzgerald’s magical run stole some of their thunder 2015-2020 (2 division titles and a 3-3 record Vs Wisconsin)

Almost beating Penn St. Was the best they played all year. Coaches were too conservative on offense, otherwise I think we win. No punt safe by PJ was shockingly stupid in that situation.

Penn St game with friends was A 2024 highlight. I will also use this space to tout Kwik Trip peppermint ice cream with candy canes. Gopher badger man has my back in this

I had the most fun watching the USC game. Lots of drama at the end of the game with going for it on 4th, the long review and then INT at the end to end it.

After the USC game I didn't think that game could be best for "favorite game of the year".

That being said, beating wisconsin at wisconsin and ending their 22 year winning record and bowl game streak has to be #1.

In fact, I can honestly say I could care less about the bowl game as destroying the badger streaks and having them have to be miserable for an entire off-season is glorious.

The badgers didn't cross midfield until 6 minutes left in the 3rd. They don't score if we don't commit a stupid ass late hit penalty. We destroyed them in Camp Randall. It. Was. Awesome.

USC

Honestly... one of the best parts was the smug "fan" sitting next to me.

Some kid with gopher gear on sitting with his 3 friends was staring at his phone the whole time (gambling...). His 3 friends were cheering and into the game. Dude was your typical Debbie downer predicting a loss the whole game and he convinced his friends to leave just before the 4th .... and I sit in not cheap seats, they spent some money for that guy to grumble at his friends and leave early.

Little while later we're on the field celebrating, and I like to think that dink got a lot of shit from his friends.

Rose Bowl

  • Team comes back after a wonky 1st half.
  • Defense comes up big multiple times.
  • A gamble on a late punt!
  • Offense drives to win it with a big play.
  • Koi seals the deal in front of the visitors!

Away of course is Illinois (monkey off our back / probably our best win opponent wise) and of course a dominant win over Wisc.
