Farm Aid Concert at Huntington

Neil Young, DM, Billy Strings were the best in my opinion. Willie was good in its own way. It was very moving as it was clearly his goodbye to farm aid. Bob Dylan was awful (as expected)

It was a crime that Nathaniel Ratecliff and Billy Strings went on before Chesney and Margo Price. crowd was way more into Billy and Ratecliff. It almost seemed like they scheduled that way to give everyone a break to hit the bathrooms and the beer line before the headliners.

Event management was an embarassment. Ran out of food, beer, and merch about halfway through the day. Whoever was running the cameras had no idea who was playing. Lighting was also criminal. They basically left flood lights on for about 45 min. I was staring right into one sitting in the second deck. Audible cheer from the crowd when someone finally got a brain and realized it.

I think the light in the upper left is what you are referring to. Yeah, not good on that point.

Running out of Merch is probably on the organizers. Fortunately, one can still order on the Farm Aid website for additional. They indicate a November delivery.

Big miss on the food, whomever is responsible.

I believe Aramark has the contract.

I'm sure they are somewhat culpable, but I have to think Farm Aid was also somewhat responsible. Several stands were turned over to "locally produced" food options which just might not have had the proper supplies.

It was also heavily promoted as a "no waste" event, which meant no plastic bottles for Coke, soda, water. They did have aluminum cans of water but a Coke was just under $11 in a large recyclable cup.

Perhaps, "no waste" also meant they didn't want to have to trash any food. Just a wild guess.

I have also heard that event organizers were shocked how many fans were there really early in the day. That had to have an impact on their supply algorithm.

My saving grace was a bag of Drew's Popcorn (w/ butter flavor) after Waxahatchee. That filled me up. Before Kenny Chesney, my buddy went on a hot dog/brat run and they were all gone, except one stand that had sausages but were out of buns, so no go.

I went down after Chesney, got in line at a little portable stand with only a line of 6 in front. Asked the guy before me what they were selling, he replied, "No idea, but the line's short and they are still serving."

We got with range and I could see it was a patty of some sort, so I inquired, "Regular hamburgers?"

Nope, turkey burgers. Sold.

Tasty, not sure it was worth $20 (under regular circumstances) a la carte. No chips. Just in time, I think there were only few left.

Were you in the stadium seating? I was on the field. We had plastic Dasani bottles of water for $7.99, Deshuttes Fresh Squeeze bottles were $17.99. Cheaper beers were $15.99 I think? I didn't see any food down there, but wasn't really looking. But yeah, food and drink were not the best for options.

Stadium seating. The place I got my water at had run out of food, but was still selling water/beer/soda and it was an aluminum bottle.

Maybe other stands had traditional bottles for water. It was the Drew's vendor that told me Coke bottles were prohibited.
