Evidently, Kaliakmanis left for more NIL money

if this is accurate - talk about not being able to read the room. Anyone who followed the team could follow Fleck's comments after every game and read between the lines to see that Fleck was not happy with the QB play or the general state of the passing game. for Kaliakmanis to walk in and start making demands just demonstrates a pretty glaring lack of self-awareness.

as always, it would be fascinating to know who AK was listening to and what type of advice he was being given.

i too love making things up. it wouldn't surprise anyone if AK said this was his expectation towards coming back, but the reason he left wasn't NIL, it was that he was bringing someone in to compete and he wasn't going to be a guaranteed starter prompting AK to take his ball and go home. Best move for both teams as AK was more suited to what Rutgers was going to do and had a relationship with the coordinator.

you can go light into thor on twitter if you wish. he does enjoy the back and forth.

note - if you are unfamiliar with Skor North - the guy talking about AK is Thor Nystrom. he covers college football and does NFL draft coverage for a website called 'Fantasy Life" - which focuses on fantasy sports and sports gambling. Skor North promotes him as their resident NFL draft expert.

but - I will add that Skor North loves to proclaim people as "experts."

He completed around 40% of his passes in the bowl game.
I hated watching Athan play, but wasn’t happy when he left because these guys always improve. I bet he has a great year next year and he was definitely better than I expected him to be this season.

Would not surprise me at all if Rutgers has a better offense than Minnesota next year. Still don’t think bringing in competition for Athan was a bad idea.

He didn't improve much this year. 54.8% completion percentage regular season and 43.8% in the bowl game. He is what he is.

Wasn't it more or less confirmed that AK left because Fleck was bringing in competition for the starting job? Maybe he was paid more in NIL to go to Rutgers.....but pretty sure that he didn't leave because of that.
AK got more NIL at Rutgers than, let’s say, Illinois State…after already leaving. That’s the story.

Why do 75% sports podcasters look like the guys at the bar on 25 cent wing night.
Are there still bars that offer this? I don't really drink anymore, but I can fuck with wings to an unhealthy degree!

I would suggest that losing a QB who lacks self-confidence and is terrified of competition saved this program from at least two (2) years of lost progression.

The Meek Greek is not missed by this Gopher fan regardless of what he does elsewhere.
MEEK GREEK!!! lol, savage
