Should be a resource to settle some arguments on what did and didn't happen with our passing game in 2023.
Anxious to see how we look in 2024.

Watched about half of it. Confirmed what most say: inconsistent.

Even if he would have completed one more pass out of ten and he would have just averaged 63%. Basically just two more completions per game. And there were plenty of opportunities to have done that.

Why did Rutgers put that together? Doesn't make their new transfer QB look like a world beater.
Transfer quarterbacks are the new backup… people just assume they must be better / can only improve. Rose colored glasses and all.

Not sure why Rutgers would put that together...

I just watched the Nebraska game and it confirmed what I thought I saw most of the year. Approximately 4 for 9 on obvious crossing patterns (receiver moving laterally) including the incredible catch by Jackson for the TD. AK does a pretty decent job of hitting the WR/TE that's able to run a short to intermediate pattern into the open spot and park there for a moment, so he recognizes the defenses, but hitting a moving receiver accurately is a another thing. I hope he does OK at Rutgers except when going against MN.

I watched it all, in 2X speed. Here's my thoughts:
-Dan Jackson is a stud. Caught most everything thrown at him (within 5-yards that is)
-Our O-Line was inconsistent and most times didn't do AK any favors
-AK did not go through his progressions very often (combination of line breakdown and skill). ---Usually locked in on Dan Jackson. Safetys picked up on this and 1st half vs. 2nd half wasn't good for AK.
-AK had "happy feet". Didn't set and bounced a lot.
-Two games that put him in the transfer: Northwestern and Illinois. Purdue Game would have been better with a laugh track behind it...dreadful.
-AK was a serviceable QB, but not more than that. I wish him the best.

Our O line did not look elite at all times. Some of his issues were due to early pressure. On the other hand he also had some poor throws on those times when he got to sit in pocket.

Don't forget to read the YouTube comments either. Entertaining.
Rutgers fans are clueless, but I admire their enthusiasm and optimism. Some of my favorites...

"He seems accurate within 12 yards...."
"Wimsatt has stronger arm but this kid is way more accurate and hits target in stride"
"He can actually go through his progressions and doesn't just force it to the first read. He makes short throws to receivers in stride"
"Minnesota was a bad offense last year. All of drops and zero protection."...
(Then another replies) "Yup! But he'll be playing with the B1G rushing leader".
"mineesota recievers seems like they were very bad. with our much improoved O line and better reciever core, Im feeling 8 wins next year."

Huh? Hits the receivers in stride? They must be watching a different film than me.

Edit add: granted, Rutgers fans are comparing AK, the second worst accurate starting QB in the BG10, with the least accurate in the BG10 (Wimsatt) according to PFF. We were all spoiled by Morgan.

Sounds a lot like Gopherhole. 😂

Hope springs eternal.

Kal looked to me like someone who had good success at first but as his passes got dropped and his line forced him into rushing his passes or escaping, his confidence ebbed. He had probably been told how great he was until this season's collapse and was further depressed by criticism. A sad story for both the kid and the Gophers.

His regression was public & shocking. He had confidence @ the Penn state whiteout game.

You're joking/trolling right?
I actually agree with him. He didn't have a great game but he looked confident out there. To his defense, tough environment to have your first start in, but he really looked confident throughout the majority of the 2022 season. His body language looked nothing like how he looked in 2022 and would say you could tell by watching him his confidence was draining as the year was going on.

You were watching the same game as I did. 2023 was a different quarterback. Maybe he will find his confidence @ Rutgers. Better to have a player transfer & succeed than stay & fail. A Penn state Whiteout game should be on every football fan's Bucket List.

Never say never.

I once saw Wimsatt throw a beautiful fade on a highlight. Never saw that from AK. He can’t throw crossers accurately, or downfield, or drags. He is a project and Kirk and Schiano seem like they want to prove something. I like it. I like their burning desire to show up Fleck. That makes this interesting. I doubt they win but you never know.

Not sure why Rutgers would put that together...
Not sure why anyone on GH would want to watch it. We know what he was and I don't need to see same mistakes over and over. (Still pissed about those passes to our tight ends)
