ESPN P4 QB Rankings
42. Drake Lindsey, Minnesota
Total QBR: 66.8 | Pass Yds: 958 | Rush Yds: 5 | Total TDs: 8

Lindsey enjoyed a nice performance against Rutgers, throwing for 324 yards and three touchdowns in a win. He's 15th nationally in success rate (52.8%) despite rarely throwing at or behind the line, though he's averaging only 10.6 yards per completion against power-conference opponents. There's absolutely no run threat here, but safe passing combined with strong defense should produce at least seven or eight wins.

He was 18th out of 18 B1G QB's in most preseason QB rankings. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

By the same token, I preseason speculated 8-4 for the Gophers, with 6-6 possible if Lindsey was below average, and 10-2 or 9-3 if he was going to be well above average. As it turns out, after just a few games he is looking like he will be well above average, but the final Gopher record at this point might be closer to 6-6 or 7-5 than the 9-3 range that I was speculating with good QB play.

It turns out a surprise fall off of defense and running game are now the x-factors. These things were not on my pre-season radar.

In this video, Liebert says:

A) The Gophers are in the top 40 nationally in percentage of pass plays

B) Lindsey ranks #2 in the nation in PFF grades so far this season

This is amazing, really, for a redshirt freshman.

Liebert talks about this stuff starting at about the 1:30 mark in the video.

Michigan QB getting paid to be better than 38th, haha. We'll see if he moves up. Cool to see Drake so close to him though, considering the $$.

Not that it’s possible, but it’d be interesting to see the NIL $$$ next to each QB to see who’s getting the best and worst value.

Go Gophers!!

Drake looks good passing.

Arch looks like he's trying to poop out a bowling ball while he half tries to throw a pass ...

It's nice to see Allar's ranking match his performance on the field rather than the school he represents.
Kind of Christian Hackenberg redux. Highly-ranked out of HS and obviously talented, but something missing from their games. For all their success, Penn State hasn't been blessed with top-tier QB play.

I would not have expected Maiava to be atop the list but shows what I know. He just doesn’t pop off the screen like some do. Nice supporting cast.

Jerry Kill protégé Diego Pavia at number 2 has become quite a sensation down at Vanderbilt. Who would have thought the Albuquerque tinkler (Pat Forde) would be ripping up the SEC. This is a great story. Pulling for them to make a run through their next games…

Allar…
