ESPN: 'Locked-in' Hageman ready for big things

Produce like he should this season.....1st round NFL pick. $$$ Money should motivate!

It'd just be so awesome to see a Minnesota player drafted on the first night, it's been waaay too long since we've even had guys go in the first couple rounds, let alone 1st. Honestly, I'll be happy to see anyone drafted since it's been like three or four years (Decker I believe was the last one?)

Even Decker was a 3rd rounder, so I don't know when the last time was that we had someone drafted in the first two rounds.

FYI, the Gophers have had two first round picks since 1991: Maroney in 2006 and Middlebrooks in 2001.

We need full effort and concentration from Hegaman. He and Boticheli (sp) inside , with the speed ends we have, could be nite mares for offences. Don't like the I from him though. A player on a winning team will get more recognition than a so called star on a losing team. Teams win, no matter what level.

Hageman has the speed to be a major interior pass rush threat at the next level. Don't discount NFL team's desire to find guys that can get to the QB.

I can just about imagine Shede and Boticelli just raising havoc on OLines of opponents. But they need to be in physical condition to do it for a whole game. That is up to them and the Coaching Staff to get them to that point.

I can see him being projected in the second or third round after the season, and then after he blows up at the combine with freakish results he could jump into the first round. Would be pretty awesome to have a gopher selected in the first!

I looked up the games he had his 6 sacks in and half were against good teams. If he can get that number to 10 or more he will attract lots of NFL attention.

He's virtually a lock to be drafted in at least the first 3 rounds solely on the basis of his size/athleticism/strength profile. If he can have a big year this season and have the production profile to couple it with, he could be our highest draft pick in a long, long time.

Our last top 10 pick: Aaron Brown, DE, #6 overall in 1966 to the KC Chiefs
Our last top 20 pick: Darrell Thompson, RB, #19 overall in 1990 to the GB Packers

Just sayin'.

ESPN: Big Ten has big shoes to fill at DT

Ra'Shede Hageman, Minnesota, senior: As athletically gifted as any Big Ten D-tackle, the 6-foot-6, 310-pound Hageman started to figure things out last season and had a strong spring. He looks like a guy who can take his game to the elite level if he stays focused and driven.

Go Gophers!!

Would be nice to see him have a monster year and climb into the top 10 picks to really put out the Minnesota name for recruits.

20 Craziest Athletes in College Football: #2 Ra'Shede Hageman

"He's certainly the most athletic. Not only does he have the 36-inch vert, but he also has bench-pressed 465 pounds and clocked an electronically timed 10-yard sprint in 1.57 seconds. For comparison sake, no DT at this year's NFL Combine jumped higher than 33 inches, and Terron Armstead, the offensive tackle who ran the blazing 4.71 40 at the combine, did a 1.64 in his 10."

what kind of numbers does ra;shede need to have to be a first round pick or even top 10 pick to go along with his athletiscism that we all know about? where will he go if he has 55 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 9 sacks which i think is reasonable to believe that he will get those numbers this yera

Hageman "He is F-ing an animal"....as was said in the movie Youngblood.

ESPN: Big Ten's double-digit sack masters in '13

Ra'Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota: The Gophers' large human being had six sacks a year ago and has been tearing it up this offseason. It's not always easy for an interior lineman to rack up big sack totals, though. It could be that he creates traffic jams and opens up opportunities for teammates like Thieren Cockran and Michael Amaefula to reach the quarterback.

BTN: Debate It: 2013 Big Ten sack leader?

Brent: Ra’Shede Hageman, Minnesota – At 6-foot-6, 311 pounds, many forget Hageman came to Minnesota as a tight end. Every season, as expected, he’s improved on the defensive line, going from zero sacks/zero tackles-for-loss as a freshman to two sacks/four tackles-for-loss as a sophomore to six sacks, 7.5 tackles-for-loss last season. Based on that rate of improvement, double-digit sacks is a distinct possibility for Minnesota’s freak defensive tackle. By the way, I’m not the only one to use the word “freak” to describe Hageman. Bruce Feldman feels the same. A senior, this is the season Hageman should put it all together, figure it all out and dominate the competition.

Go Gophers!!

The preseason mags are starting to trickle out now. I only saw Lindy's and Sporting News at my local Cub, but both publications had the Hageman on the All-Big Ten first team.

Hageman is what I'm most excited about for this upcoming season. Second would be the OL and running game. Third would be Philip Nelson.

I'm personally hoping my Packers somehow end up drafting Hageman.;)

Hageman "He is F-ing an animal"....as was said in the movie Youngblood.

Let me correct the quote for our B!G audience ...so they understand it better.

"He is THE f-ing animal."

Better.

this has become the "all things Ra'shede Hageman" board, not that i have a problem with it, its nice to see all of the articles and preseason teams that talk about how great he is
