ESPN Juiced for TCF

They are running a commercial touting the stadium. It ends with an aerial of the stadium. Pretty cool.

Yea, I was pretty sore about strangers in our house but since the M is not being replaced and the end zones will be unaltered, I am as pumped as ever. I hope the Vikes can somehow win. This does showcase the bank.

Yeah, the stadium is being shown off very well. Though it would be better, IMO, if the Bears win. ;) Bear Down Chicago Bears!

Please prep the announcers that Madison and Iowa City are also in the frozen tundra. Michigan, MSU and probably NU as well. This stereotype is really getting old and borders on ignorance.

After further review, it is ignorance!

I live in northern Iowa and, trust me, there is a tremendous difference between the weather here and the weather in Iowa City. However, there is very little difference between the weather here and the weather in Minneapolis - big snow difference this year, but no temp difference.

Just look at temp maps during the winter and you'll see "God's middle finger" shooting down from Canada into the eastern Dakotas, Minnesota, western Wisconsin, and northern Iowa on a fairly regular basis.

Got to agree. Pretty big difference. Doesn't make it nice in the other locations, but big difference.

So right now the temp in Iowa City is 5 and MSP is showing 14. Does that disqualify IC from a tundra designation? I would guess the tundra is frozen in IC as well as MSP.

My point is that Minnesota always gets that label which is fine but it should be shared.

It's because of the Sears Die Hard commericials.

Or maybe the Herschel Walker trade.

According to TWC, there's about an 8-degree temperature difference for both high (34 v. 26) and low (18 v. 11) averages for Minneapolis and Iowa in December.

That's a difference, not sure if it's a tremendous one. We may be more disposed toward the lower extreme (-20) than IC; but let's face it, they're both cold.

The best thing about the ESPN coverage on Monday is it is going to make the local media look like idiots for all their bitching during the week. The question I have is this: is our sports media overly whiny or is that sports media in general throughout all markets? You NEVER hear praise from our media. Well, not true. You never hear praise from the non-beat writers.

Meh? This game isn't being played in Madison or Iowa City. Nor is it being played in Michigan or Illinois. It's being played in MINNESOTA.

Hence the whole MINNESOTA frozen tundra.

Awesome. Any videos of it? Can't seem to find any at ESPN.com right now..

Looking at the forcast for game time, it might appear that they never got the snow out of the stadium.
