ESPN: Gophers having fun in Pitino's new system

Good article. It's obvious the players feel less worried about making mistakes, and are able to relax a bit more:

“If you can score as fast as you can, you can take it,” said Minnesota forward Oto Osenieks. “If you’re open, just shoot it. He doesn’t worry about the time on the clock. If you’re open, just shoot it. That’s our style, up-tempo basketball. Get out and just score as quickly as possible. … You don’t hesitate. And you don’t think twice.”

“It feels good,” Austin Hollins said. “It makes me comfortable. You’re not too worried about making any mistakes. You’re just playing hard. … As a player, it really boosts your confidence.”

Go Gophers!!

First article from Myron without any cheap shots aimed at the U, our facilities, or our athletic department.

I think another important element so far is that not only are the players entertaining themselves and each other, the fans are being entertained and that enthusiasm carries over from the fans to the players. Everyone having fun and being entertained. It doesn't get any better than that.

That's new for him. Must have taken a lot of self control for him to withhold any backhanded comments.

Exactly, Bleed. I realized last night that I wasn't aware of thinking for a moment about errors that the guys were making - because they and the coach are not. They simply move on. Little Dre finally got his moment scoring over the 7'3" center and it was sweeter for the earlier failures!

Great publicity for Pitino's recruiting efforts.

Any ESPN article that has "Pitino" and "Fun" in the same headline needs to be printed out and handed to every recruit.
