Eric Carter Commits

Thought this quote was telling:

"I was watching the game this weekend and they started the true freshman Philip Nelson at quarterback. They were airing it out with him which was great to see," he added. "They were up big at halftime and I felt like it was a sign that the program is moving in the right direction. I knew that Minnesota was where I wanted to be after watching the game." - Eric Carter

I don't believe it. It can't be true. Jerry Kill only recruits players that nobody else wants, particularly when discussing non-MN players.

I think the other teams that were looking at him were underwhelmed by his hand-timed 40. And wouldn't talk to him until he had an electronically timed forty with a head wind on an ice rink 1 mile above sea level. ;-)

Come on, we all know elevation doesn't affect the 40 time because it's over so quickly.

Laser timed Electronic 40s are more accurate at higher elevations as there is less matter to get in the way of the instruments.

If it is a sonar timed forty than it is best to run at least 15 yards underwater after exhaling with weighted boots. Preferably cleeted.

Although if it is hand timed, you are correct in your assessment. ;)

Everybody know that 40s done at elevation are incredibly faster due to less atmospheric resistance....

We all should realize that 40 times are done twice. First is uphill, against the wind. Then they turn around, go the other way, uphill against the wind. Then the two times are averaged, with both hand held times and electronic times, then are averaged again, then with a .92 factor added in for each 2680 ft of elevation below Denver, and Mile High Stadium, we finally get an accurate 40 time. I am surprised that you experts did not know this.

Looks like a solid commit. It's easy for really really good prospects to get lost in the mix down in Florida. I like his versatility. Not fast with average speed, but again, he plays on a winning team in one of the top 5 prep football states in the country.
