Early Mock Draft - Gophers

Gophers ranked 10th in the Big the past five years with 15 just behind Wisc 17 and ahead of Purdue 14, Illini 13, Terps 12, MSU 10, Huskers 9, NU 7, R 4, and IU 3

Prior to the 2024 draft the Gophers ranked #11 of the 18 BIG teams in all-time draft picks.

Thank you for the info.

The biggest shocker to me is MSU and their decline!!

A little surprised on Joyner not being taken as we're halfway through Round 6. Been a late run on QBs so maybe Brosmer goes in the 7th. Hard to tell what pre-draft rankings mean, but he's in a group with Rourke and Miller (NDSU) behind Ewers as it currently stands.

Jah would look good in people here late in the 6th

Graham Mertz gets the last laugh on the Badgers. I guess his logo got him somewhere.

Crazy that Mertz picked before Ewers or Max.
Agree. But I caught a few of his games when he played for Florida and he was in an offense that matched his skill set to a tee. I don't know if he can elevate those skills to an NFL level, but he put up pretty good numbers for the Gators.

I'm really surprised about Ewers.

16 picks left in the draft and Joyner is the 16th best available per ESPN.

Be happy. Three Gophers are drafted!

We have to wait for UDFA. There may be more Goophers making it in the NFL 2025.

It shows how all the pre-draft press is a bit all over the place. Walley went a little higher than I thought. I thought Joyner would get drafted and I didn't think Lindenberg would get drafted. I don't know if there's a correlation, but I wonder if Sanders' fall took up the draft space that would have allowed Brosmer to get drafted. I've heard from agents that it a guy falls to the 7th round, it's almost better not to get drafted because they can negotiate with all teams and sometimes get a better bonus. Seems odd.

I'm guessing Tyler Cooper signs as a UDFA as well.

It’s an educated subject guess!!

Remember Black Jack Gibbons, undrafted stud, ends as a starter

I generally don’t care if the Vikings draft a Gopher but taking the Penn State LB at
202 with Lindenberg still on the board sucks. 45 is a better player than the Penn State kid.

Vikings never seem to draft Gophers . Maybe a Daniel Jackson, Brosmer and Cooper free agents.
The Vikings have to try to win games. Not just take Gophers. Every year the Gopher diehards don’t get why the Vikings don’t just draft Gophers. It is pretty simple. That’s not how you win in the NFL.

Fair enough. I like them both. Free agent pick in the 6th/7th rounders don’t seem like that big of deal though. Tyler Cooper just went to the team from the East. Antoine Winfield, Ben St Juste might have looked good in purple. Couldn’t have signed Jah Joyner as a free agent?
