Eagles at Kaposia Landing

Living on the East Side, I walk down along the River at Kaposia Landing. Over this past week I have counted up to 92 eagles, fishing, courting, and nesting. They have been most active in the warmest part of the day as the court and catch the best thermal updrafts. If you have a chance I suggest getting down there over the warm weekend.
Also, I saw pelicans, swans, and many varieties of waterfowl.

 

I can think of very few things cooler than spotting a bald eagle. Though sandhill cranes in the backyard last fall was close just because it was the first time.
 

It was maybe a month ago the family was driving and a bald eagle flew right along side of us. Our 9 year old was excited. Probably not really a big deal anymore with their comeback but I still get excited when I see them.
