Duke

duke drew 4 offensive fouls in the first half last night..
that is a lot..
that's 4 fouls and four TO's.

the key is to come out in a mellow mood.. dont attack the rim!!
young teams, especially when they see duke is a bit soft and not very athletic, begin to attack the rim to try and jam everything.... like it is street ball.

WATCH OUT!

the pukies will then take 4 or 5 charges and put your best players in foul trouble 5 minutes into the game..

mellow at the start... mellow..

Best way to stop a kid from taking the charge...come down with your knee right in his gut and drive the wind right out of him as you fall with him to the floor. The pain inflicted will cause him to never take the charge a second time.

then you've never seen duke play..
they feed off the pain.
the pain makes them hungry for more charges.

like the wild-eyed football coach of your youth that finally snapped and yelled at everyone to 'just go hit someone'... dukies look for someone to charge into them.. watch their D from under the hoop.. their 'bigs' are constantly lining up guys hoping the will drive into them...

beware.
