Gotta go with Drake so far in this new starting QB contest!

But in all fairness, Drake may have the better O-line!

If PJ would take the handcuffs of, Drake might perform even better. I was at the Cal game. it was a real treat to watch a young QB throw it around the brickyard, esp. long downfield throws. Of course, it was the true FR QB from Cal …

I'm guessing JJ would have looked slightly better against Buffalo (Bulls, not the Bills), and Northwestern State (the Demons are not the Falcons).

You're comparing apples and Cumquots here for what reason?

Vikes O-line hasn't been great, but they're playing with a makeshift line due to Injuries. Our O-line has played one P5 defense and is still a work in progress with all starters in the lineup.

Comparing Drake to the Greek Freak: It's pretty darn close.

Like Drake, Athan also has good non-con stats.

What I don't understand about the NFL is why there is such a huge drop off from starting O-lineman to backups? How is this Skule on an NFL roster? And why does RIsner sit unsigned the last three years until the first week of the season? I don't know where he ended up this year but he was a late signee for the Vikings the prior two years.

Risner ended up on the Bengals. He also gave up the sack that injured Joe Burrow's toe. (turf toe).

Nobody circles the wagons like the MN Vikings fans

The pre-draft assessments have been pretty accurate, pro and con.

It is interesting, that in NFL it really does seem there is a huge difference between the starting offensive linemen and the backups. The backups just get instantly exposed. Usually you recognize over time that a backup isn't quite as good, which is why he was the backup. And you go, I guess the coaches were starting the right guy. But in the case of backup offensive linemen in the NFL it's like embarrassing how quickly everybody knows the guy can't play. Why is that? I think it's new thing. Backup o-line guys used to make an argument they were playing the wrong guy on occasion, at least for a game or two. No longer.
There has not been an expansion team since 2002...that ain't it.
If it's communication...knowing who to block...that's coaching. Are the defenses just too big and fast? Seems like a possible answer.
