per Doogie:

Add another name to the Gophers' list of candidates for their vacant head coaching position.

University officials have reached out to Florida Gulf Coast coach Andy Enfield, according to sources.

The pursuit remains in the phone call phase, sources said, five days after the "U" fired coach Tubby Smith. No in-person interview had been scheduled as of early Saturday afternoon.

Go Gophers!!

I'm not sold on the flavor of the week. I don't like the 1 season of success, jump to the big league coaches.

This is officially turning into a mess. Not impressed with NT right now. Seems like no plan was developed beforehand at all.

Sure looks like that way now...not sure if that's true. Maybe Shaka played him for a fool.

Norwood. If you were gonna fire a hall of coach. You should have had a real plan in place. This is becoming very Maturi like.

How long until he declines and the masses here scream "smokescreen"?

this guy has such a track record, its tough to get a read on how good he is. what concern me is he has a pretty dynamic PG in comer, who i think makes that offense look a lot better than it is.

We are late to this party. USC is after him. Let's see: Fort Myers to Minnesota or to LA. Oh, and um my wife has traveled the world and is more famous than me....where should we go?

She has that Scandinavian look, that's all I got.

Looks like THE SCOUT! was the only one here right about Nor-Woodchuck Teague

Doogie has been played so many times he's like a worn out 45 of Rocketman on the jukebox at The Good Old Time Tavern. Zero cred left.

The more I look at Enfield's resume, the more I'm intrigued.

He's smart (a graduate of Johns Hopkins), has NBA (shooting coach with Milwaukee & Boston) and major college coaching experience (five years at FSU).

Reading Tim Layden's article about him, the most impressive thing might be his teaching skills. Also, that he got Marcum to keep going out with him after a first date consisting of Taco Bell & a St. Johns game.

Tweet from sports reporter in Naples:

@ndn_adam: Some internet rumors have @CoachEnfield going to Minn. #Gophers. I guess he's familiar with some people in the athletic dept. #FGCU

Go Gophers!!

No question he's a good prospect. We could do much worse (Grant). Bottom line he's got the coaching chops.

Like THE SCOUT Said Enfield his going bring his family here to freeze their as* off. Plus He has a lot coming back next season , he is loaded, and he can be picky

News flash. Women like guys with lots of money.

I won't believe any rumors. Show me some pics on the rollercoaster at MOA, outside Sex World or at the VU then I'll believe we have actually contacted a coach about the job. So far the only people we have offered the job to are Smart and Stevens.

Doubt if he will let people like Teague and Ellis run the show since he has about twice their IQ

No F'ing Way! His team looks like it is playing street ball and out of control. It doesn't pay to be smug about your abilities if you end up taking a flyer on the flavor of the week. If he is the guy I am embarrassed for T&E and will shed a tear for the U.

Let's get one thing straight - that's not street ball. They're running some pretty nice offensive sets if you look closely. They're just not making it any more complicated than it needs to be, which maybe makes it look simpler than it really is. OK, now I'm starting to sound like Yogi Berra.

What are you talking about? There was a clear plan - it was so precise that it included only two words: Fire Tubby.

This whole hiring thing is starting to look like a disaster. Should have kept Tubby at least for another year Teague.
