Doogie asks Associate AD if there is a scenario to shift Kill to admin role

If Jerry spends the off season with Leslie Frazier he'll come back with barely a pulse. Rest up Jerry! Stay the course. ...just let the younger guys rant and rave for you.

Dumb question, does he really think even if that was considered they would tell him. He was just being ,well I think we know what Doogie was being. I suppose Norwod Teague wouldn't give him the time of day. He should have asked the associate ADs mother's best friend if Kill was healthy enough to continue coaching.

I don't see an issue with the question, though I think it is unlikely that the U would keep on a former coach in an associate AD role as that may make the job less attractive. There have to be some conversations going on at the administrative level about what to about the head football coach position. Doogie had to know the answer to his question before he asked it, but he's doing his job by trying to find out what is going on.

Though I think the question is more then a little pre-mature, I think part of the reason it is not flying on this board is simply Doogie has not built his resume up yet as a credible journalist. Right now he still looks like someone trying to hit a gold strike without knowing where to dig.

Love your optimism.

On behalf of Doogie, he did know things that were going on behind the scenes such as when Brewster was coach and more then likely does now but is not at liberty to share/point out. He did know some behind closed door stuff we the average fan were not privy to.

Along with that, his occasional interaction with this board does place him in venues and interaction most sports writers do not go into.

That said, I still think given Coach Kill has a history seizures and how his staff has handled it, I think a better avenue of questions is if his seizures have grown in severity and/or numbers since he has been in MN and dealing with all the issues being at the U, if he is simply learning how to deal with it at a different level since he has climbed the ladder experience wise before going to the question of other potential positions.

And one more thing, I do regret my comment concerning Doogie's credibility as a journalist. Though I do not get to review all his work around the TC area, I do believe he works hard to be as fair as possible in reporting the local sports news.

Just get over it

I just want this issue to go away. Jerry Kill is the team's coach. He moved the team forward this year. He exceeded my expectations for team development. Next year, the team should have a solid nucleus of returning players -- with bowl game experience! If Jerry doesn't get hurt with his condition and keeps getting up, I want him on our sideline. If he misses a game or two, well, that is why he preps the players to be resilient.

I think he is building depth on the defense for the long term. His offense will be fine with healing and another line recruit or two. The guy reminds me of an underdog. He's lovable. He's all football. He is a character and a challenge at times, but who isn't! Are there things to get better, sure. But, last year the coaches went to clinics to improve their performance and I hope they do the same this year.

I think Jerry Kill does not need an administrative move. I think he needs to work on remaining calm during a game. If he remains calm, he will find he will think more clearly in so many more ways. What can I do but applaud Jerry Kill as a coach and as a person.
