"Impact Players: Dominika Paurova | 6’1 | W/F

Dominika uses size, skill, and a good IQ to impact the game. She showed versatility through her ability to switch seamlessly between perimeter and post play. Showed an understanding of the differences to effectively defend in both areas as well. She kept her team in it early. She put the ball on the floor and made determined drives in the first quarter finishing and getting to the line while showing shot-making ability throughout the game."

Dominika Paurova made the Honorable Mention Awards list for the All World Cup U19 2021. (See link.) That was a strong honor among top talent. For comparison, up one level in the honors was Lauren Betts, the #1 overall 2022 prospect in America per ESPN HoopGurlz, and Diamond Johnson, the #6 overall 2020 prospect. At the #1 spot was Caitlin Clarke. Paurova is listed as a F/C.

Various videos show her teams feeding the ball to Paurova as a key shooter. Plus she has good side, jumping in for rebounds.

Can Paurova still enroll early this year and be eligible in January? Team could use a little more depth.

Dominika Pourova two weeks ago scores 17 points on the way to defeating the defending 3A champion Westminster Academy. She shot .540 on field goals ((7 of 13) and .400 on 3-pointers (2 of 5).

In fact, she's been scoring double digits in about every game plus doubles in rebounds sometimes too.

DME Academy is a school with top training facilities and coaches. I'm not sure about the level of competition in the games but I do know that wing/forward Chloe Kitts, the #17 2023 national prospect who committed to South Carolina, trained with DME Academy and Faith Christian Academy for her school/teams.

SBLive Power 25 national girls basketball rankings

7. Hopkins (Minnetonka, Minnesota) (4-0 – 6th)

Four up, four down for the Royals. They've beaten Benilde-St. Margaret's (MN), Dowling Catholic (IA), Bishop Garrigan (IA), and Maple Grove (MN), all by double-digits. Only blip - guard Taylor Woodson is working through an ankle injury.

21. DME Academy (Daytona Beach, Florida) (7-0 – Unranked)

Even after losing top-20 recruit Chloe Kitts, DME Academy keeps rolling - including an 18-point victory over in-state Central Pointe Christian Academy. Transfers Olivia Schmitt and Minnesota commit Dominika Paurova have been quick contributors.

"The Sunshine State features a couple of the top teams in the country as Montverde Academy and DME Academy head into our third week of rankings as our No. 1 and No. 2 teams.

2. DME Academy (7-0): DME Academy has rushed off to a 7-0 start to the season and this group is just about as talented as they come. The team is averaging well 74.2 points per game and is led by a slew of talented players, including Minnesota commit Dominika Paurova."

*** PROJECTION ***

The Minnesota Gophers project to make the NCAA tournament next season. That is based on what we are seeing this season so far from the Gophers and then what this team projects to look like next season. Could use one more good post player to the roster via transfer portal.

Destination 2023-24.

Ignore the wins-loss record this 2022-23 season. What matters is the payoff in subsequent years.
