Does Pitino know about Donavahn Jones???

The gopher football player? Hmm, he seems pretty talented from his various highlight videos, but I can only imagine how difficult it would be to juggle both basketball and football, especially since they overlap a lot.

Lot's of football players were good basketball players as well. Playing both sports at the B1G level is near impossible though. Remember Bryant Allen, the WR from Missouri who'd been Mr Basketball in Missouri? He wasn't able to do much of anything on a Tubby team that was desperate for a PG. By the time football is done it's January & the player has missed months of practice & the non conference season.

No reason to know about him unless half the team quits or become injured. Not a D1 level player .

He's not a high major level player... But that guy could certainly play basketball at low level D1 mid majors (if he focused solely on basketball).

If he's Winfield good, then I'm very eager to see him be a star this fall for Kill.

They said the same thing about Dave Winfield
No, Actually they said the opposite about Winfield. Max Preps had this kids basketball team ranked 200th in the state of Georgia. Plenty of D2 or low D1 kids can put out a nice mixtape . Did not see him rated by in Basketball recruiting services. low d1 basketball player at best

Winfield 6'6" late growth spurt excelled as a senior for outstanding St Paul Central Basketball team (named all state in baseball and basketball) Late growth spurt and lack of exposure kept Winfield of of basketball recruiters radar. He was a Great Baseball prospect/player . Blew up as a Hoopster in intramural ball. Not much to compare with Donavahn who played for a losing high school basketball team and is not mentioned as one of the top 36 class of 2013 in Georgia by ESPN .It is not uncommon for High Major D1 football players to also be excellent basketball players ...that rarely translates into being able play high level D1 basketball.
