Does Max Brosmer have an NFL future after one year with Gophers?

At risk of understatement, pre-draft workouts will be huge for Brosmer. Curious if he gets an invite to one of the lesser All-Star games. He barely ran the ball for the Gophers this year and if my memory is serving correctly, never by design. I don't know if that affects any assessment of him because I don't scout players for any NFL team (and fans of all NFL teams are glad that I am not scouting for their team).

Looks like he already accepted an invite to the Hula bowl.

Also, he had a few option type plays where he kept the ball and ran for a touchdown, one of them was pretty late against USC I think. Definitely wouldn’t consider him a rushing threat, although he is decently mobile when needed.

He has a lot of good qualities. Is he tall enough? Is his arm strong enough? Can he throw deep? If he can throw deep is it accurate? Can he move in the pocket well enough....does he have escapability? I think he'll get opportunities to answer those questions. If somebody likes him....he may get drafted late.
Gary Danielson loved his quick release and ability to throw receivers open....he has seen a lot of QB's.

I don’t think he gets drafted but I’d guess he gets a look in free agency.
All depends on how he does in the evaluation process. I think he's a late round pick that some team will want him in their QB room.

This is my guess as well. I could see a team taking a late round flyer on him as a potential backup/fill in QB if their starter goes down.

He definitely will. I don't think he'll be drafted, but he will be signed as a UDFA pretty fast after the draft is over IMO.

He's got the brains to be a very competent 3rd string on a roster. I think an NFL team will take the chance on him and see if they can "train him up" athletically.

I was trying to come up with a Max comparison for the next level. It seems likes he's Nick Mullens size with Alex Smith's play style. I'd be surprised if he has the arm strength to get drafted, but it seems possible he could make a practice squad as a free agent.

I think Max could make a fantastic coach. You see these really young guys advancing quickly to becoming play callers at the college and pro level and it sure seems like Max could take that path if he so chooses.

Kid has a bright future somewhere be it in medicine or football.

He'll have a career path similar to Josh Heupel.

As an example, Chase Daniels had many years of drawing NFL paychecks with somewhat of the same make-up. Right situation at the right time..... It would be better if he were to go the FA route. Otherwise, head north to Canada. New Hampshire is close to Hamilton, Toronto, and Montreal......
Chase Daniel had much better feet/mobility than our boy Max.

>> Gophers graduating Max Brosmer won’t be drafted next April, but will get a free agent invitation to some NFL camp, perhaps the Vikings considering their uncertain QB situation.

Go Gophers!!

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but wasn't one of Brosmer's main motivators for transferring to Minnesota was to go to medical school here? Has that plan been temporarily (or permanently) shelved while he plays out his NFL options? Personally, I would prefer a physician path (if still available/viable) than hanging around the fringes of the NFL and hoping to land a spot on some practice squads

Looks like we all agree he'll get a shot. I hope his smarts will keep him on a roster. The guy deserves it.

A real noticeable difference, from Morgan especially, was his demeanor and calmness pre play. It was so nice to see them break huddle and be able to change a play, or just look over the set without running around like a chicken with your head cut off. I’ve always thought snapping the ball with a second or less on the clock was an obvious advantage for the defense.

Well that seals it. He's a lock to be drafted.

Think of some of the shitty Badger QB's that have cashed NFL paychecks.....
Jim Sorgi
Joel Stave
Scott Tolzien

I think Max is better than all of them......

He's definitely going to be drafted now!

His best deep thor of the year was dropped by Spencer. I thought I read somewhere he did not have a completion over 30 yards in the air all year, but I could be wrong.

I thought he had a good year, but the deep ball was not a strength at all.

0:24 is about 31 yards in the air

LOL. Thanks. So he did have a 31 yard in the air ball in the final game.

I did think the pass Spencer dropped might have been there too, it was a good throw.
